Overview
Click on Map is a geography guessing game where you explore a mystery location, place a guess on a map, and receive a score based on distance. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be handled when you use the app, visit this website, contact support, or play multiplayer through Apple Game Center.
The app is designed to work with minimal information from you. Core gameplay is based on generated game locations, your selected game settings, your map guess, and scoring results. We do not sell your personal information.
Information You Provide Directly
If you contact support by email or through the embedded Google Form, you may choose to provide your name, email address, device model, iOS version, app version, issue details, screenshots, or any other information you include in your message.
Support information is used to understand your request, investigate bugs, respond to you, improve the app, and maintain a record of support communications. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information that is not needed to resolve your issue.
Gameplay Settings and Scores
Click on Map may store gameplay preferences and progress on your device, such as selected mode, selected region, selected country, round count, timer settings, map style preferences, best game score, round results, guessed coordinates, actual coordinates, distance, and points.
This information helps the app restore your preferred setup, show summaries, calculate scoring, and keep track of your best results. In normal solo play, this gameplay information is intended to remain on your device unless you choose to share it or a platform feature syncs app data under your device settings.
Location and Map Information
Click on Map presents mystery locations from an in-app location dataset and map or street imagery services. The app lets you place a guessed coordinate on the map. Your guess is used to calculate distance and score for the round.
The world location dataset used by the app is based on codergautam/worldguessr.
The app does not need your real-time physical location to play the core game. If a system prompt ever asks for location permission because of a map or platform feature, your choice is controlled by iOS settings. You can review or change app permissions in the Settings app on your device.
Street Imagery and Map Providers
Click on Map may use Apple Maps, Apple Look Around, Google Street View, MapKit, or related map services to display maps, street imagery, locations, and route-like visual comparisons. These services may receive technical information needed to provide map and imagery content, such as map view requests, approximate map regions, device or network information, and service usage information.
Map coverage, imagery availability, labels, traffic layers, points of interest, and geographic accuracy are controlled by the relevant provider. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies and platform terms.
Game Center Multiplayer
If you use multiplayer, Click on Map may use Apple Game Center to authenticate you, match you with other players, connect live sessions, and exchange multiplayer game data. Multiplayer data can include display name, player identifier provided by Game Center, match status, selected color, lobby settings, round progress, guesses, points, total scores, and connection events.
Other players in the same match may see information needed for gameplay, such as your display name, score, readiness, and round results. Game Center is provided by Apple and is subject to Apple’s privacy policy, Game Center settings, and your Apple account configuration.
Website Information
This website is a static product and support website. It may be hosted by Firebase Hosting or another hosting provider. When you visit the website, standard server logs may be created by the hosting provider, which can include information such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, requested files, date and time, and general diagnostic information.
The Contact page embeds a Google Form. If you use that form, Google may process information you submit and technical information associated with the form. You can also contact support directly by email at bobbywang0225@gmail.com.
How Information Is Used
Information may be used to provide gameplay, calculate scores, save preferences, support solo and multiplayer features, troubleshoot issues, respond to support requests, improve reliability, maintain security, prevent abuse, and understand whether the app and website are working correctly.
Support requests are typically answered within 3-5 business days. Including your device model, iOS version, app version, and issue details helps us diagnose problems faster.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared only when needed to provide the app or website, such as with platform services, hosting providers, map providers, Google Forms, email providers, Apple Game Center, or legal and safety processes if required by law or necessary to protect rights, users, or services.
In multiplayer, certain gameplay information is intentionally shared with players in the same match so the game can function.
Data Retention
On-device gameplay settings and scores may remain on your device until you delete the app, reset app data, or change device settings. Support emails and form submissions may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to respond, track issues, improve the app, and maintain business records.
Your Choices
You can choose not to use multiplayer, not to contact support, not to submit the Google Form, or not to provide optional information. You can manage Game Center through Apple settings, manage app permissions through iOS Settings, and delete the app to remove locally stored app data from your device.
Security
Reasonable measures are used to protect information handled through support and website systems. No app, website, email system, form provider, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.
Children
Click on Map is intended as a general-audience geography game and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through support or the website, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
International Use
Click on Map can be used from different countries. Support, hosting, platform, and third-party services may process information in countries other than where you live, depending on how those services operate.
Changes to This Policy
